I often think people cant be this dumb, and yet i am proven wrong every day.

1/ Um, A 2012 study from the site of Kathu Pan in South Africa suggests that hominids, possibly Homo heidelbergensis, may have developed the technology of hafted stone-tipped spears in Africa about 500,000 years ago. I struggle to name any army where the sword as the primary weapon, OK, maybe the Romans and Gauls kinda-ish, but they invariably carried other stuff to dish out grief first.

The spear and the bow were invented before the sword and can be manufactured more easily and more cheaply. Any army equipped with just swords would be at a massive disadvantage as they would be taking casualties from ranged attacks with no way to respond. The Romans mitigated this damage somewhat by shield formations like the testudo but still had Hastati with spears and later two javelins, both foot and mounted archers as well as slingers launching stone and lead projectiles at over 100mph.

I get the vibe a lot of these comments in the images are just autistic people who struggle to grasp sarcasm

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This and let's be honest:
We all have these moments.
Except the rude ones... mock them at will.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#12 polans tribe ...seriously. so it was technically. It literally derives as people of (the) po. Po...lans.

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

I've been told that this can be an autistic trait, to not understand if something is not said directly, but I am not 100% sure if that's true or not.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh it is, I myself have fallen victim plenty of times

#4 is because they're relieved Santa isn't stuffing himself into chimneys. Just thinking about it was horrifying to them.

Santa can just go through walls, you nitwit.

This post made me more angry than it should have.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a colleague that’snlike that.
He always, without fail, manages to ‘correct’ everyone. He’s also a grouchy as fuck ‘old dude’. He is in fact my age, but somehow he looks, acts and geberally responds ‘old’.
Inhonestly wonder how hengot to this age with his overall attitude towards life. The attitude that just sucks the soul outnof every little thing.

This is how i see those people who comment "should wear a helmet" on basically anything where people aren't slowly walking.

#3 The joke is that it means friendship in any language.

1 month ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Means strangers in my native tongue.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It could also be translated to "Happy Ending"

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's the perfect way to show it to a friend and be like "wink wink, nudge nudge"

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really special friends

You have an interesting friend group.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#3 looks like friendship in any language.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why are all those people not getting it?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Half of the responders are 10 years old and haven’t yet grasped sarcasm? Also, some never do…

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wonder if we've reached the point of the meta humour being to comment as if you don't get it... You know it's where we're heading

1 month ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

It's like "Oh nice! No one took the bait yet? Guess I'll take one for the team. I'm just happy to be involved"

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love to do that, and it bugs the hell out of my girlfriend as a bonus

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

100% some of these were jokes yes

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's been happening for years. Sometimes it's organic, and it's glorious. Other times it's planned just to fuck with someone. Depending on how frustrated the other person gets, it can also be glorious.

1 month ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Alot of the reddit ones just seem like people making fun of autistic people.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We could easily run an experiment here on Imgur by ceasing to add /s to our sarcastic commentary.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Been doing that for years

Ok I'll bite: But he is holding a hammer.

1 month ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Because 7999 is cheaper than 8000, so he could afford to buy one.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

7999 BC is closer to us than 8000 BC. So the hammer is invented and a year later he is using it.

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

BC being Before Christ, so the numbers go in the other direction. Means 7999 is after 8000. So since hammers were invented the year prior, this is a valid depiction.

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

BCE Before Common Era

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They all bit lmao.

1 month ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yes, because 7999 BC is one year after 8000 BC.

1 month ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 1

Um, 7999 is *less* than 8000, therefore it’s earlier. Any kindergartener knows that. Learn some geometry. Geez
