Something that might make a day easier, Vol. 16

Hi imgur, a day or two ago I mentioned docker as a tool and I stand by it. I also acknowledge it can feel a bit like jumping into the deep. Should run just run the command? How do I use compose files? Should I? There's a lot to it.

Today I want to add portainer to the list. Some docker enthusiasts may not approve, but I think of it as adding training wheels to my learning path. Portainer makes it easy to set up and run your first docker containers just by filling in the blanks. When you're comfortable with that, and ready to learn more, you can try stacks which preform similar to compose files. After that maybe you integrate github. It's taken me a few months to get to that part, and now that I'm here I'm trying to decide what to do next. I'll probably remove portainer from the equation soon. Maybe. No promises.

What ever your learning journey looks like, just do your best. Use the tools if they're available. Don't take shortcuts when you're starting out, better to do all the steps and learn what you can along the way.
