This is a grave marker for the unknown soldier from the First World War. The body is buried at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, but the gravestone is located in the Memorial Hall of the nearby Canadian War Museum.
It's placed in such a way that every year on November 11, at 11:11 am, the sun shines on it through a specially placed window.
