Spiders on Mars

May 30, 2022 6:13 AM

This is a region close to the south pole of Mars. The spidery features are created when CO2 gas escapes the surface in springtime. The image was captured in March by the MRO probe which has been orbiting Mars since 2006.

Scientific name of this feature is Araneiform

The features were named spiders, but they do not come from any life forms.

They are a result of the CO2 cycle on Mars, which freezes during winter, and sublimates back to the atmosphere in spring.

So, if a Doom Slayer were to actually shoot a hole into the surface of Mars, sudden CO2 release would be a huge fart? :-D

All that CO2 and no global warming? Checkmate liberals.

Well, the martians are smart. They keep their CO2 cycle in check and use only solar power or radioisotope thermoelectric generators
