I love how even though she's deaf you talk to her regularly. :) I do the same with my deaf cat. I talk to him like he's hearing. Treat him no differently than his hearing sibling. :)

An ad that shows a competent and thorough examination of a pet? I'll accept it. Thank you for sharing

My cat loved freeze-dried salmon as a treat.

Well that was instructive, i had no idea cats get sunburn actually, or that human suncream is ok for them

Pretty much, although anything with zinc oxide or salicylates needs to be avoided.

She took the vet visit well! And required hiss at dog.

And another hiss at the vaccination needle. Because, apparently, needles are a very thin, very sneaky subspecies of dogs.

And bitey dogs, so my dog-acclimated cats do not like them either.

Hiss at the pain of the vaccine but gladly was comforted by the food so that was quickly forgotten! Didn't realize cats can get sunburnt on their ears. Good that you took care of it.

Dogs and cats can get burnt wherever their skin is exposed just like us. Ears and nose are usually the least covered areas. They're less susceptible to burning than we are but yeah still possible.

yeah I can imagine. My past cats were always indoors so I never thought about that.

Sigi is in top form. Glad she's doing well. Many Imgurians were worried that Sigrid would get sunburned and are relieved that this isn't the case.

I was pretty heavy handed with the sunscreen! It's a relief knowing that she is totally fine.

Sunscreen, for a cat?

Yeah their fur only protects most of them. As he said, the ears are still mostly just skin. So stands to reason they can also burn just like we can. It's just they're not going to burn as easily as we do. The nose/snout could also get burnt. Dogs have the same thing. It really depends on how dense their coat is and how exposed their skin is.

Yes, and dogs too. They can have the same issues with skin damage/cancer as humans, especially on their ears if they have white fur.
