How do they move the rubbish

I hate to break it to you but that's not a stream, pretty sure that's an open sewer.

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You think so? 🤔

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Those two big bursts of garbage mean someone emptied their bins into the canal.
People are lazy shit.
It's time for another plague

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

From the TikTok name I suppose this is in Saigon, Vietnam. I live there and I can tell you that this is, unfortunately, the normal amount of garbage that people throw to the rivers/street EVERY DAY. I hope I will see this small system apply all around, but I don't count on the authorities to maintain it... This and Plastic People would be a good combination to get rid of the garbage.

That's very sad but very common in poor countries.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

where the F**K is all the garbage coming from... holy shit people... WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY!!

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Poor countries have issues...

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mister Trash wheel does that for larger rivers. https://www.mrtrashwheel.com/

That's a great job 👍🏼

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

SCORE! Imagine the raft you can build with all that!

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And then release that shit in the wild. Nature takes care of itself, Bubbles.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now let’s collect the pieces of garbage who like to litter

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Worst f***ing game of Tetris ever.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where is it coming from?

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Man, lots of trash people for there being this much trash.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That water is grey...

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This just makes me wonder even more how much crap is going into the ocean after a hurricane...or several, and larger.

10 months ago | Likes 144 Dislikes 1

The key is to do your part so you can feel good about reducing your trash imprint and then not think about how fucked the planet is and just maintain a hope that you can reach the end of this ride before the planet becomes uninhabitable.

By funding cleanup efforts I might buy myself an extra 100 years of smugness for use after I kick off.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well I'm pretty sure this is an open sewer instead of a stream

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whole fucking houses

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A hurricane? Homie you should see how much stuff gets into rivers after a moderate rainstorm. Shit's real bad, yo.

10 months ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Yes, I've seen it, in several countries. It's heartbreaking.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And all of that is a fraction of what's dumped in the ocean on purpose.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Especially when there's still a ton of crap on the curb waiting to be picked up from the hurricane a couple weeks ago.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Humanity was nature's worst mistake

10 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

A blessing and a curse.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's just fucking horrid...

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You don’t ever want to visit anyplace south of the border with a river ocean outlet. It is insane how much garbage washes down.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, I know. I have.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Simple cheap improvement - its not a perfect fix but if someone's tending to it, the problem gets more visibility at least. Maybe where this is can return bottles for refund?

10 months ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

An even better improvement would be catching those who dispose their trash this way.

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

A lot of that is about poverty. Want to slow or stop the flow of trash into the water? Then you have to build properly engineered landfills and then fund proper trash collection and transport systems. People don't want to live in pollution, but the poor aren't really given a choice.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh, there's more to it than that, at least some of it is cultural. I've been to at least one place where people don't consider plastic as trash. The island is a paradise unique in the world, and in many places the ground is covered in dozens of square metres of discarded bottles, tarps, and whatnot. When you mention it to locals, they're taken aback, because to them it's perfectly fine and they don't see a problem.

Microplastic teabag.

10 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Sounds like the signature move of a professional wrestler!

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good name for a jam band.

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have a lil list of band names like that. On the list it goes.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

While this is well and fine, we still should shoot the people tossing garbage where it doesn't belong.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That escalated fast.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm worried that someone is just out of view upstream dumping bags of trash for the video. The way it appears in bunches adds to the impression.

10 months ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 1

Unfortunately there are plenty of places where no extra effort is required...

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It does make sense...

10 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Especially with none at the start until they knew they were in position and rolling....

10 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

Apparently, the locals haven't heard of such a tool as a trash can

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The way the trash comes down in concentrated groups makes me think someone upstream is just dumping their trash straight into it

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Someone definitely just dumped in their trash up stream, lol. There was barely any, and then BOOM.

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The Question is intentional or not. This are three massive pile. The Problem is that in those countries they get payed to "process" European Trash. Often it ends in illegal Dumps. Which are unstable and release themself into small streams like this and it ends in the Ocean. Looking at the Water Quality i would say upstream is one. The Question stays: Was it a demonstration or the normal 'selfrelease' when the rain started. I am in favor of the selfrelease, demonstrations tends to be with poeple.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cool!

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dam! That's a lot of trash.

10 months ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

That dam looks like it's ready to burst. Hopefully they clean it often

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

did they dump a bunch of shit off camera or something? because it was clean when the video started?

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's... Quite an excessive amount of trash in the water.

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That's because people are trash.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So where's the truck dumping it's up stream?

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What is the time period we're looking at? Because I'm happy it's catching the larger bits, but I'm still horrified.

10 months ago | Likes 439 Dislikes 2

Roughly one storm. You can see the flow increase and the water change color.

10 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Not all trash floats...

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same! Where the holy fuck is this? And what they said… what’s the timeline please?

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Will last 5 minutes in India & Indonesia

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think this is from the 2020's

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The early two thousands?!?!

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was back when they didn't care about the Earth!

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was 2 seconds sped up to make it look like it's 20 seconds...

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nice. sad that I had to ponder that for a moment.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looking at the clouds, I think no more than a few hours.

10 months ago | Likes 156 Dislikes 1

Seeing how much crap was just upstream all at once, agreed that it was an incredibly short timespan. I'm doubting it was much more than an hour, if that.

10 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure its when large amounts of people are waking. If not, maybe after typical dining hours?

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well pointed.

10 months ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

It could be a demo video. Nothing, nothing, nothing, tons of stuff. Implies to me someone dumped it all in at once.

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I hope this was a test and not "normal"

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

bless your heart

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aww, man. :(

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure this is an open sewer, not a stream

10 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

A lot of the streams are now open sewers. The USA had a lot of clean water rollbacks from the 2016 administration so that companies could freely pollute our waterways.

The good old party never misses an opportunity for social destruction.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A pay walled article that you can't even read the first paragraph of. So I'm going to just point out that just because the things that were put on place by the potus before being rolled back doesn't mean that sewage is now automatically being dumped into the streams now. The treatment plant in the town i grew up in output water that was cleaner than the tap water, in the 80s and 90s.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Javascript blocker removes the paywall.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On Android?

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is very clearly not the U.S. lmao.

10 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

I know, I mentioned that a lot of streams are open sewers, then I mentioned the US. Two separate things.

10 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Yeah, open sewers are yucky. Unlike Sports from Huey Lewis and the News. I think that’s when they really came into their own commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost.

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What is all that water doing in our trash

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The video’s sped up but this must be only 20 minutes max

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not time-lapse, you see the garbage pieces actually moving along the water. It's just sped up, max 10 mins. But it looks to me like they are throwing the garbage in upstream to demo the device. Or maybe just a large amount of rubbish was dislodged from a bigger pile upstream.
