sudo apt-get install lib-frustration

After spending two hours figuring out how to install Flash it's amazing to see how efficient it is, giving me the ability to do all of the nothing I'm doing at breakneck speed.

Certain linux distros are nice for lower power computers but it's such a pain in the ass for a lot of programs.

ScarySpider is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.

Oh no, reported to who?

Using an obsolete, unmaintained and crappy software is always a pita. Flash needs to die, I just stopped using it.

* meanwhile, somewhere in Finland *

Why is some random guy in Finland sharpening a knife? Linus lives in the States, and has for 20+ years.

Why is he sharpening that potato? Is he going to make vodka?

I have a couple of servers running Linux to set it and forget it... but for day to day just use windows

Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. I love Linux, but I have too many windows only programs... Hmm... I do have a spare laptop...

Since I got into 3d Printing I've been using my octopi as an excuse to brush up on some basics, it's all I've done in the last 5 years.

I run both because of those dang windows apps

You'd have to pay me handsomly to get me to even consider allowing Windows or Mac on my home network.

I allow it and segrigate it on its own subnet with a different outbound nat adress for tracking purposes. That wan interface is also logged.

I have a Windows 98 laptop that drives an EPROM burner as it was the only way but it's not attached to any network.

Lots of peeps moan about Microsoft, but that shit just works. Once past Linux noob stage one is actually part of a cult and fanatical.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You don't know what a cult is. Cults literally do everything to keep people from leaving. Linuxers will say "fuck off back to Windows."

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How have you escaped the cult and found this post two years later? ?

But it's worth it

sudo rm -rf solves all of my problem...

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I learned the hard way that as opposed to Windows, Linux can actually (and very efficiently) remove itself

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No it doesnt. You have no directory chosen. As such nothing will happen and it will exit 1. Its sudo rm -rf /

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i mean i could add '/' then some random curious folks folk would just copy it to terminal then...

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

sudo rm -rf / --no-preserve-root

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only on versions that doesnt trust the user.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But should the user be trusted for that?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely. There are legitimate usecases for freely deleting inside root folder.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve been getting into it lately. Both amazing and infuriating at the same time.

Same, what distro you have been using ?.
