Swedish music! I like it! (And we're not talking ABBA.)

Dark Kite (with Nicklas Stenemo and Christan Berg) has made a bit of noise lately and makes amazingly dark new-wave/synth stuff that sounds new, but still has that The Cure feeling. Kite is amazing, new and perfectly produced.

I saw Cultivated Bimbo live the first time in the early 90's. I enjoyed their hardcore synth stuff, but was mostly impressed by their clean productions. "Corruption" was their break-through hit, and the one I loved the most:

Ståålfågel ("Steel bird" with too many åå, so that might be "Steeeel bird" I guess?) were pioneers when it came to Swedish synth music (or synth in general really). They started out with drum machines and electric guitars in the end of the 1970's, but soon went full electronic in the early 1980's. The weird bleeps are the signature sound of this wonderful Swedish band...

Happy happy Incka (Ullén) started out with the cool band William, and later went solo with "Incka". She's always been somewhat in the background of the Swedish pop-industry, but always important. William had some hits and sold many records, but her "Apelsiner" (Oranges) is my favorite among the songs she made herself.

Yes! But they're a bit too "normal" for me. :) I enjoy it, but I'm more a "She Past Away" fan (though couldn't include a Turkish band).
