Help with old handwriting

Jul 25, 2022 12:31 PM

Just bought yet another old book, but I cannot for the life of me make out more than a few words of this note on the Half-title. Can anyone out there make out what this says? The date is clear enough, but only a few words of the rest make any sense to me.

[edit] Thanks to some input, I think I might have it now: "With very best love 2 Shirley Kindest New Years luck 2 my dearest guardian angel from our loving mother (signature) Jan 1st 1914"

With very best - love 2 **** kindest - New Years **** my dearest guardian angel - from Ian ***** Jan 10,1912

I think first *** is the name Shery Vincent, but not sure. The other two ***, the letters looked like nonsense words.

Or a name for the final one.
