For your jumbo sized Settlers of Catan games

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I want to do that, how did you do that?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I made a stencil with a shelf shaped like a hexagon from Marshalls by tracing it on foam board. I leveled it then taped around it.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ohh, thanks. it might be possible to trace all the horizontal lines at once, then diagonals. then just mass cut the right lengths of tape..

I'm literally just redoing my bedroom and was trying to think of things I could do and this is perfect since it's gonna be my tech area

Hexagons! I love me some hexagons~<3

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...why not patch out the hole? Planning on keeping the old equipment? Can't imagine it still works

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Definitely should have but my skills are limited. I'll have to get someone to help me with that.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's actually super easy. Once you see it once you can do it - wall pattern looks cool either way!

So are you a Protractor, or a Contractor?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but why didn't you align the outlet and switches goddammit.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmm I guess I should have done that. I centered the first hexagon with the center of the wall.

I feel sorry for whoever has to paint over that

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I applaud your patience to tape all that up.

Jesus! How big are the bees?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How did you make it so even. That must take hours. Gj op

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I used a level and a stencil. Once putting a whole row of hexagons up the following hexagons had less lines to tape because of previous.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@op don't know if you've noticed, but there's a hole in your wall.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What was your method?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I made a stencil with a shelf shaped like a hexagon from Marshalls by tracing it on foam board. I leveled it then taped around it.

Your pullout game is weak. Why else would you be making wallpaper for children

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did you start with a 30° angle and pencil in lines with a straight-edge. Tape out the whole grid then removed the excess tape? Howd ya do it

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I made a stencil with a hexagon shelf from Marshalls and traced it on foam board. I found the center of the wall and started there.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice! Thanks for replying. I forgot about stencils lol

As a painter myself, i can see you didnt tape off the base board.... For shame.

As a foreman for a painting company. You taping is a crutch or for diy shit like this I overcharge to avoid doing. Looks cool though.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

I thought professional painters didn't need to tape edges like that. Don't y'all feehand that shit?

5 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 1

It's called cutting in...

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Damn right. Only amateurs use tape HA HAHA.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Obviously whoever did this did not possess that skill.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Also didnt run a wet rag over the tape. Didnt pull up clean

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wish I would have know this tip before! I'll do this in the future, thank you!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I actually didn't paint it myself, I just taped it

Or the ceiling!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The baseboards would look cool grey

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But you DIDN’T tape the baseboard.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When accurate taping by yourself is easier than painting.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You didnt tape the base board
