Target feather pillow is full of needles

Dec 12, 2023 3:43 PM

I woke up and found one of the feathers in my Target brand feather pillow has impaled my shirt. No joke; This is how I found it.

These are some sort of "water fowl" feathers according to the tag. The shaft is extremely sharp and rigid and prime for poking and stabbing human skin.

Most of the feathers are like this and are constantly stabbing through the pillow.

Made by Design. A Target brand.

The pillow fabric is very tightly woven and feels like it should resist being punctured by these feathers...but it's not. Even two extra pillow cases aren't enough since the shafts stab right through them like needles. This is a common occurrence with this pillow. I regularly have to pluck these so I don't scratch up my face at night.

I can only imagine one of these feathers poking my eyeballs while I'm asleep.

You might want to bring this up with Target. Or the Consumer Protection Agency.

The downside of down...

That's what happens when you use feathers instead of down

Why are you so proud of buying cheap shit at target? Florida? Florida. Or Texas.

Not limited to just cheap pillows. I had a Mitchell + Gold couch ($$$) that was like sitting on a porcupine. It had two heavyweight fabric coverings but they still worked their way through. (Yours are much larger but still the same problem.) You’ll need to make a super-heavy cover to go under the outer shell to make them more than decorative, sorry, or ditch the feathers and replace with a poly fill.

When buying feather products, be sure they're down fill, not feathers. Feathers have a sharp sheaths like this, down does not (nor would down be particularly itchy even if the shafts penetrated, hehe). In closing, feathers v down like leather v suede, same product, totally different feels. Now you know

If your tag says "100% down" get a return for false product information and file a complaint, no joke, feathers ≠ down so the product is defective at the least
