Yeah it looks like they just use the full camera (or a secondary shot focused on the glass) and zoom in rather than doing it with the camera while filming, but even then that can be a pain to do well in software. Although I'm sure there is a pro-level tool for motion tracking that I've never seen or used before

There's free software that does it well automatically. Microsoft had a free suite called ICE (Image Composition Editor) but they cancelled it, so you have to look hard to find it.
