HR employees are double agents, while they appear to be the legal and ethical enforcers, they will advise, and engage in any and all types of legally shitty behavior to protect the company, bottom line, and reduce it's exposure to lawsuits. Company shills.

I have a very vivid memory of asking why there's a distinction between ethics and business ethics when I was in grade school and my teacher not being able to give me a straight answer and plowed along.
