Title is overdramatic but so am I. I've been sick in bed for 2 days. Wanted to see what my heart rate was like when I threw up when I noticed a yellow spike in the middle of the night. Even worse the day before.

Turns out this is normal and healthy. I didn't know the body did that. It's cool to think about how the body works.

If it keeps happening, though, you should get it checked out. Just because infection can cause your heart to beat faster doesn't mean because your heart is beating faster, you are therefore only fighting off an infection. Be sure to get your fluids.

2-3 days without food is ok as long as you're taking in fluids like soup broth and fluids with electrolytes. Watch for signs of significant dehydration like low urine output or dry tongue and skin that tents when you pinch it.
