We launched The Last Clockwinder in June and recently found time to look back at development. We thought you all might find it interesting to see how the game developed over the years. In the first part of the video (our earliest prototype) you can see that we already have the core gameplay figured out (you clone yourself and build factory-like machines) but most assets were still placeholder; the final idea of what the setting would look like wasn’t quite formed. In 2021 the game was already fully playable and we have made good progress in terms of art style and direction, and then in 2022 you can see a big jump in terms of polish to the final game!
