#1 anyone know how well these work in high winds and waves?

#4 You want to see what is really useful? Wago connectors. Hold different sized wires securely, can get opened again and reused over and over again.

#21 Last time we bought new washing/drying machine for the house, they used these to bring them in.

The last time I moved, the moving company guys had these and were fantastic. There was 4 guys and they had all my stuff moved in 2 hours. I ended up tipping them each $50 for their amazing work. I had scheduled for a 4-5 hour move because I had a lot of stuff but they were very fast.

Each ring has a exit. In big waves you climb down the last bit on the outside to not be trapped. its better than jumping 40 meters / 120 bananas down

I wonder why it has so many rollers, it almost looks like some of them are there just to flex tha paper

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s cool but that even some sections are pretty much on the floor is bad.

I have never been in a clean press room. So much junk can be picked up or kicked or anything. It’s the only part of the process that makes zero sense to me.

It’s a step backwards from the rest of the tech that has improved vastly in the last 30 years.

#3 panel lifters are worth every penny.
Can't say I've ever seen someone putting a sheetrock ceiling over top of OSB though...anyone know why you'd do that?

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

sound dampening or fire resistance... if that's a garage space with a bedroom above they'd need fire-resistant (type X) panels. Depending on local codes, anyway. It's also easier to finish drywall than OSB unless you're planning to just slop paint over it.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Gotcha!
I think where I am, you just need to have fully finished sheetrock

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#9 Or you could just use Robertson screws, as they stay on the bit without extra doohickeys.

It's because this bot has ripped off a bunch of Toolgifs' videos.

#3 is a drywall lift, they have been around for a while. they work well but kinda max out around a 12' sheet of 1/2" or an 8' sheet of x-rock unless you got the heavy duty one

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The ones readily available also only hit around 11 foot, a fact I learned when my wife and I remodeled our old building and had to special order one for our 13 foot ceilings.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Are they available for rent? My son needs to redo his kitchen ceiling, water damage.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes but get one from a rental place, they tend to be kept up with better

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most big box home improvement stores have them in their rental sections, but I would try finding a smaller hardware or lawn equipment place, they should also have them, and you'll be able to support a local business.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#4 Hm, this... honestly, I think lever nuts and standard wire strippers would do you better.

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Yeah that's horrible

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Indeed. Excessive twisting should be avoided.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I never used this. I have wago.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a former electrician, for the love of god, don't not do this.

4 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Lever nuts FTW.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OK Frostedjakes, I won't not do this.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Do not do what DoseOfScience said, or what was shown in the video?

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Do what Science guy says. Not the video. Man, I really butchered that reply.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the blue wire wasnt attached to anything at the end...

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because it was cheap, I ended up buying #4 at one point after seeing one of these videos. I'm bored and easily amused. It is absolute garbage. I tried it with 12 gauge wire, 14 gauge wire, even a few other random wiring assortments I had laying around just to see if I could even get it to work as advertised. I could not actually find a combination of wire gauges and number of wires to make this thing work the way it was supposed to. Don't waste your money.

4 months ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

It looks like a waste of mpney even if it worled as advertised, you could do all that just as quick with old fashioned hand tools

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Besides, if you're using any wire cap made in the last like 50 years you don't need to twist it much, if at all. I'll do maybe one full twist, just to make sure it can't just pull free from the others before I get the cap on.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As an electrician, it hurts to watch that one.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had an apprentice buy them once, and like ya said it only works about 1/2-2/3 the times. Journeyman took the tool and put it in their workbench, and gave em another pair of Kleins. Like ya said, just not reliable.

Some years ago, the keys fell off my pocket getting out of a rental car. They were locked inside.

Called a locksmith. He asked “can you see the keys inside the car?”. I said “yes. He said he’d be there in a few minutes.

When he got there, he had an unusual looking device. Sort of like a gun shape, but with a flat disc/rotating wheel mounted on top. He inserted a blank key. Then he looked through the window at the key on the seat a few feet away. >

4 months ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 0

Indeed it's handy in some cases !

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He began rotating the device to different positions. As he got to a position, he would squeeze the trigger and it would notch the key. He would then adjust the key and move to the next position on the wheel that he thought was correct.

When he was done, he had a key that matched the one on the seat. Brushed it with a the wire brush, then use it to open the door.

This is why the first thing I do when they hand me the keys to a rental car is clip the wire key chain they come on & stash it I a place that I will not leave it in the car, (is where ever I'm staying, or if it fill fit in my wallet)

Skillz.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Dang! My dude showed up with a rubber bladder, wedged it between the frame and door, pumped it up, then used a dowel to press the unlock button between the space the baldder created.

4 months ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

I paid a locksmith 150€ to spend approx ten seconds reaching in between the door and the window with a hook and yanking at a wire. After that I learned to do it myself with a wire hanger. Never had to use the skill in a real situation, but I practiced on my car until I managed it pretty well. Doesn't work with newer cars, I believe.

4 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yup, I was fucking livid when they charged me like 250 for that in San Francisco. I could have done that myself, easily, but I figured they'd have real fucking tools. Nope, just some dude in a shitty hatch back who reeked of weed, essentially doing legal car lock busting. Absolute nonsense.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

"I was livid when a dude showed up with a legitimate tool for the type of situation I was in and had called him for, with him then performing the act of getting my car open for me in a legitimate way for the profession, successfully completing the job I had hired him to do."

If you could have easily done it yourself, then you should have. Cry more that they did what you asked and charged you like you expected to be charged for their paid service.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Mmmmh, no fuck that. There's no fucking way someone who takes 4 hours from the time they're called to come and do a 5 minute job should be charging that much money, ESPECIALLY using tools that did damage to the frame of the door, and the seal on it, because they're shit tools should be charging 250 for that bullshit. I called a PROFESSIONAL lock service to avoid exactly that shit.

I did do it myself next time, obviously. Why would I call someone when I can do it my fucking self, just as well?

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wow, my locksmith just took a rock and shattered the passenger side window.

4 months ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 2

That wasn't a locksmith, Frank, that was you, drunk

4 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Wow, my locksmith broke the window, took my keys and drove away. I haven't seen the car since.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

You had it easy! MY locksmith broke my windows, stole my car with my children inside it, and then fucked my wife during his selling of my house!

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice. I just broke my rear window. Then a friend of mine showed up 35 seconds later. Used a blue handball with a slit in it. Put it upto the lock itself and smacked the back of it. Amazing to watch the lock just pop up on his smack. I deadpanned him for 30 seconds, then told him to go fu#k himself for being late.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Hmmm was he late or were you early?

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He was late. He was with hus girlfriend at the time. I waited for him for like 3 hours. I got tired of sitting around doing nothing

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Was this intended to be a joke story involving the long debunked video clip of such an act as a part of the setting, or are you actually trying to claim it as truth when it's physically impossible?

(I am actually unsure of which it might be)

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is possible. Where the line is drawn is it doesn't work with power locks. My car was a shitty 89 Pontiac grand am.
Once the electronic locks get involves, that trick no longer works.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Funny how the way car door locks work is with metal rods moving in a perpendicular direction compared to the key-way, popping a mechanical toggle one way or the other, which would NOT move with air through a keyhole. You can easily look at a diagram of an 89 Pontiac Grand Am's door (which I did) and see it in all it's glory. This has not changed with electronic locks. Electronic locks only added an extra way to engage it.

It is not possible.
