Totality Solar Eclipse, Murfreesboro, AR at Crater of Diamonds State Park

Apr 11, 2024 4:20 PM

My son played around with the big camera, he got this one which turned out pretty neat!

Our view in the morning was concerning. It cleared up nicely, though!

Neighbors had a big telescope with a projector on it.

Have a great view of the partial eclipse.

A kitchen colander makes a good eclipse viewer.

All of the holes in it shows the partial eclipse.

Trees and leaves did it, too.

Cats did not want to wear the eclipse glasses.

Crappy cell phone video. Sorry!

Obligatory cellphone shot.

This is us minus my daughter who is away for a bit.

(D7000 still going strong after 13 years aside from a slight mostly cosmetic crack by the battery door)

If I recall correctly, it’s also a D7000. The biggest issue we are having is recently the label for the one knob that lets you select which mode has come off- making it a crapshoot as to what you’re on.

But did you find any diamonds?

Naw. We were there before and I saw a diamond that a professional-looking outfit found. It was so tiny, I would never have found it anyway!

We were there for the eclipse and more so to visit with friends.
