I have always disliked when people talk about travel bucket lists and counting the number of countries people visit. I'd been looking for ages for a travel map that was broken down to subdivisions at least to states and provinces to really show much of the world I've really seen.
I created this in about 20 minutes through a site that I found (mapchart.net) and figured imgurians would be into this kind of stuff.

Been App has regions which are also broken down a number of counties into states, provinces and counties. Or the Pro version at least which I'd recommend if you travel a lot and into data,

Ok, this is fun!

"I have always disliked"
I missed something here, it might just be wording... You dislike people talking about how they keep track of where they want to go and where they have been, and then you offer a tool for doing so.
Why do you dislike whatever it is you dislike?
Thanks for this mapping idea. As someone who loves travel (and talks about bucket lists and counting the number of countries I have visited), this is great.

I read it more as a dislike of the inaccurate, vague maps that just have the country marked instead of the actual location.

I think OP means they don’t like when people treat the number of countries they’ve been to like some sort of ‘score’ and travel maps broken down by country kind of encourages that a bit. Breaking it down by region/province gives a much more realistic idea of the places you’ve been

I disliked people talking about their travel bucket lists as just a country count which is what most self-created travel maps online do.

Ah. Gotcha. Thanks for the reply. I agree. I recently reworded my bucket list from a country list to a city list (or specific venues) for this same reason.
OK, but I must confess.
One time, while visiting Nice, France, I drove east to the Italian border, drove past the unmanned and unneeded border station and into Italy for 30 minutes just so I could check my top bucket list item of "going to Italy". (I have been to other Italian cities since, though, so I have atoned for that.)

haha, I assume the universe has forgiven you now that you've traveled to other places in Italy properly.
I almost did the same in Buenos Aires - considered taking a boat to Montevideo just to say that I had been to Uruguay, but I decided I couldn't justify it and didn't want to waste a good day in Buenos Aires just to say I had been to Uruguay.

Yeah, I have seen all of Africa when my plane made a stop in Tunis for 30 minutes.
