It's my Metroid-inspired game, took way too long to cook but here we are. Give it a go for free on Steam please, optional VR mode included. It's called Rusty's Day Off.

Feedback (here, Steam Discussions, Discord) would be great. I just need fresh eyes on it because I can't see the forest for the trees at this point. All updates were driven by player feedback so far.

It's a mix of FPS action and classic adventure game mechanics. It's not just run and gun, these bots can block for example, break their block with a boxing glove weapon.

You need to push the red button here but you'll need something to avoid breathing in the poison gas.

Some of the bots have gone crazy, the facility seems to be stripped of humans, you're the janitor on duty, find out what's going on.

There's a cool pogo-jump mechanic: crouch while in-air to bounce off the ground. You can chain that with dashes and rocket jumps to go crazy.

There's also a parry mechanic which triggers a brief bullet-time, deflects projectiles back and restores energy.
