Yes I'm giving my uterus a pep talk. Poling at that time of the month takes a HUGE toll on my body. My skin is more sensitive, I feel sluggish and heavy, and I unfortunately get rather painful cramps.

Any female athletes have any tips for dealing with this? One week a month is ALOT of time to be training at a reduced level wehhhh.

Amazing work! I use to pole, and doing it on my period was the absolute worst!! Though I found fruit smoothies, especially ones with (1/2)

Bananas or pineapple really helped energy levels and reduced cramps. Also avoid gassy foods like beans / broccoli / onions ... (2/2)

Another edit! This Video is slightly sped up sorry I forgot to say! I was too slow for my Instagram reel music haha.

Perma birth control is my only suggestion. You just skip the "free week" pills and keep crunching. No periods, no cramps, no cancer risks.

Motorcycle endurance racer here; 1) use the menstrual cup 2) electrolytes are key 3) hydrate 4) eat softer foods (think soup) during

Raspberry leaf tea.

@OP in this direction - I am male but have 3 moms (dont ask), 2 sisters, a fiance, and a daughter. CAFFEINE!! Whether it tea, coffee, soda.

A hormonal IUD (birth control) can reduce the intensity of periods (and cramps) or stop them altogether. Not sure about other symptoms tho

I got one for years, but they return and feel completely shitty during those days, plus get cysts :,)

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I agree. Ive had Mirena for four years now. I don't get periods! Mine used to be heavy, crampy and miserable.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Same. I’m supposed to get mine replaced next year. I’m already dreading having that procedure again, but it’s so worth it.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

About to do my replacement in the next few weeks. Worst/best day feels.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good luck! It’ll be over soon.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I always admire anyone who can do this. I would rip my skin, slide down the pole and bash my head. Such a skilful exercise.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When I got waxed on my period I took 2 paracetamol 15 minutes before the appointment, helped loads. It’s better to accept that as a woman

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

/2 you will have that week that is harder.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a female partner (non-binary, but has periods) who is an athlete and I asked them. They suggested some caffeine about half an hour 1/

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Before training. Maybe like a half cup of coffee. It *should* help with the cramps and pain, but you have to balance the period shits 2/

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With that. Sadly, they had no suggestions about the OTHER period symptoms other than Kotex having a line of athletic tampons. 3/3

Not an athlete however not eating dairy nor sugar makes me feels a lot better during my period. You look great btw

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Steam-room maybe, idk for some it’s this and for others it’s that ?!?

spouse has horrible endomitriosis. monthly cycles suck. on her 40th bday she's gifting herself a hystorectomy to hopefully help

This was what finally worked for me. 2 years ago now and it's one of the best things I've ever done.

I know it's not a solution for every woman, but going on and IUD helped A TON! 0 periods, cramps, mood swings, NOTHING! PS you're amazing!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Guys talk to their junk, i figured girls go the same. Gotta build that relationship.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I practice Kung Fu and the monthly struggle is REAL- I find that what helps the most is lots of water, electrolytes and paracetamol.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There are ways to not have any periods on several birth control methods. Talk to your Dr if interested.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My wife has recently found that extra Almonds during that time help reduce symptoms. Keep up the good work, you're killing it.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Do you oil or powder your skin beforehand? I can just feel the bruise of my skin being caught and dragging over the pole. Amazing job btw!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Ibuprofen. It does more for menstrual cramping than just a pain killer.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yep I work in pharmacy! Very covered in terms of medicine use hahaha

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Works even better if you start taking ibprofin preemptively a few days before you have cramps

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah. All I had in the house last night was a paracetamol/codeine combination and it still didn't really do anything. Need to get ibruprofen

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Always take with food though. Gastritis is no joke.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

True that! It will eat a hole in your belly if used indiscriminately.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Are those grippy socks like the kind they give you in hospitals?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just regular socks haha

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Love the pole tricks but who is Miss Filly?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Very prominent aussie poler, search miss filly on Instagram :) she's a powerhouse

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am not a female NOR an athlete, but if this is you feeling sluggish then major props! Also, I need to hit the gym

2 years ago | Likes 359 Dislikes 3

Video appears to have been sped up a bit.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 12

Yes! You're actually correct I forgot to mention, I sped it up for Instagram reels because I was so slow I exceeded a minute ? haha

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My comment was not meant to be derogatory in any way, I just noticed the video was a little jerky. Apparently others thought I was jerky.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I guess the comment could be easy to misinterpret for being jerky. I didn't take it that way and actually appreciated the reminder ?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

After you hit it, you should try going inside, I hear there's equipment in there you can use to exercise with. Never been myself though.

2 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

It's actuality pretty nice once you use the equipment proficiently. Try it! :)

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If I hit the equipment, is there anything inside there? Is it a Russian nesting doll situation?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hit the gym too. They even gave me money. I'm goin' back next week!

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

As a guy, I can't imagine. I feel like I'd be a baby and just hide in a blanket every time until it went away.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The 'trying channel on youtube did a great video on guys getting hit with a "period pain simulator." Worth a watch.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

TRY channel. Damn autocorrect

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I need to hit the gym too.

Sorry I should probably add, I currently have a Mirena after being checked for endometriosis. It has helped but I still get regular 1/?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Shit, if you still bleed with a Mirena then you are probably in for a rough ride all the way to menopause. Ibuprofen, I guess?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Menstruation. Before this, I was on the pill and cycling my pills would work for 3 weeks before I started getting breakthrough bleeding 1/?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So its not really an option sadly. There's nothing I can do to stop it. I've talked to my Dr about that. I do understand the importance 3/?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Of rest, but loosing 1 week out of 4 every month is ALOT and I rely alot on moving my body for my mental health so I'd rather not take 4/5

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The whole week if possible :)

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@OP During my time of time of the month I just prey I don’t sneeze lest I release the kraken. ??

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I get so gassy I'm worried the USA will invade.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I always get stuck in longwinded conversations right when I need to rush to the bathroom, and I can’t think of a way to end them, so I /1

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

end up with blood everywhere. I should just start being more explicit about it and maybe people will leave me alone. 2/2

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hey, no, yeah that's super interesting and all but I just heard my Aunt Flo is visiting so I'ma go.

Surfing the crimson wave.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sometimes you just have to blunt! Be like “hey either we talk or it’s about to look like a crime scene in here!” Just putting it out there.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I agree logically. I’m not sure I could ever be bold enough to say it though haha.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you tried "I must go, Gondor calls for aid"? It baffles people enough so they shut up, which is exactly what you need!

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That’s perfect. I love it.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have dumb question if you don't mind. Sometimes you climb the pole (grip?), other times you spin laterally around the poll (glide?)...

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...and typically you do each with different body parts having contact with the pole. How do you avoid friction burns when you are gliding?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I assume lubricants are a no go, because then you'd risk slipping when gripping the pole? Is there a technique/science behind this?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Valid questions! Is this all in reference to this one video? The pole is set to static (it does NOT freely rotate) I use my hands and 1/?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And momentum to generate the 'spin' I have to loosen my grip ever so slightly to spin as well as using a 'opening a jam jar' movement 2/?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With my hands to rotate my body aerially. I have to loosen off my grip abit to allow the rotation. Yes there is alot of friction on the 3/?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Skin, can't use lubricant as you'll slide off. You can use a kind of tack spray/rub if you're skin is dry and slidy but I was fine here. 4/?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your skin conditions to the friction after awhile and it doesn't hurt anymore :)
