I am beyond frustrated... I'm so angry I can't express it. And I'm not trans, but scared for a couple of friends. Scared for my dark skinned daughter who is a naturalized citizen. Scared for my gay friends. And angry that we have so many reasons to be scared!

As someone who only really learned more about trans people ~5 years ago, when I started chatting and eventually dating a trans girl, I can only agree with this sentiment.
For those without the connection to the environment, it's hard to grasp just how hard they have it. How much they go through, not to live a good life, not to live an easy life, just to live THEIR life. To be themselves. To have the space to deal with all the turmoils that comes from being trans, without others making it worse.

i'm disappointed in some of the people with little wealth and power, also. i get to endure so many of the same old saws, cherry picking complaints that confirm their arguments, ignoring support. only the trans people have to compromise! concerned about locker rooms? how about this: build them with privacy in mind. call off your self-appointed gender police if you don't want your wife bothered at the entry to a public restroom. former-linebacker transwomen probably aren't out to ogle your aunt.

As a straight dude who looks like a viking i have decided to wear patches and buttons on my vest to advertise i am not "like you" to the red hats and others that need to know it. Im genuinely thinking about removing them so they'll still talk infront of me. That way I can hear their bullshit and warn others if needed.
