This is my first year participating in Secret Santa and I was nervous about it. Exchanging gifts with strangers is a bit out of my comfort zone, and I was worried I wouldn’t choose the right gifts, but I thought it could be fun.

I was so excited today when I saw that my gift had arrived! The delivery person must have been in stealth mode because not even my dog’s satellite ears heard the package being delivered. I was taking the dog out for her early afternoon walk when we found the package tucked by the door. I had to open it right away! After walks of course.

My Secret Santa did an amazing job figuring out the perfect gifts. Thank you Igor! ❤️

The Elder Scrolls: The Official Cookbook. This has recipes for all the food you saw (and cooked) in the game. I have over 2k hours logged in Skyrim, so this is perfect.

Chicken dumplings, one of the many delicious recipes I can’t wait to try.

The Geeky Chef Cookbook: Real-Life Recipes for Fantasy Foods. You may have noticed a theme here, I like to cook and I’m a bit of a nerd. This book has some pretty awesome recipes as well, spanning across a huge range of worlds and fandoms.

Soylent Green recipe. I have to say I was a little disappointed they didn’t stick to the original recipe, but the end result looks similar and the ingredients will be easier to source.

The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson, books 1-3: The Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, Oathbringer.

So the thing about Brandon Sanderson is that Robert Jordan chose him to complete the Wheel of Time series, which I grew up reading (slowly as the books were released) and it is one of my all time favorite series. It’s always hard to come to the end of a series you have spent so much time with, but Sanderson did a great job tying up all the story lines and giving fans the closure we needed.

Since finishing WoT (the first time), I have been meaning to give some of his other books a try, but for whatever reason I haven’t yet. This is the perfect boxed set to finally get me reading his other work. My SO actually had this on his list to get me for Xmas.

Tesla tax! Thanks for making it this far, I know that was a lot to read. For your reward, here is my doggo, Tesla (namesake of Nikola), laying on her favorite fuzzy blanket. She is the goodest girl.

Happy holidays! I hope they are filled with everything that makes your life worthwhile.

I love trilogies where the books are long enough that the series is just cubic. You know you're settling in for some Serious Reading.

Fat books are the best. This series is supposed to be ten books total, four have been published so far &the fifth should be out in February.
