Damn, I have almost all of these. I remember the commercial but as the titles scrolled up and I saw more and more I own it made me feel older and older.
Hey man, wanna hear my mix tape? Seriously seems like everybody and their dog is making music these days. Not necessarily a bad thing I guess, but it does make it hard to stand out.
Why did everything take 3-4 fucking weeks for delivery? Did all of these mail order places hire one guy to deal with the orders of 90 different infomercials?
Oh, sweet baby Jesus. For a split second I thought I was gonna wake up on the couch and realize the past 3 decades had been a horrible, unrelenting nightmare
Not sure if you are mixing these up deliberately - Michael Myers is from Halloween and the iconic music was done by the legend, John Carpenter, who also wrote and directed the movie. This music on Pure Moods is Mike Oldfield's superb Tubular Bells, which as other posters have pointed out, is from The Exorcist. There are similar elements in both soundtracks and both are excellent and iconic.
That's right! I haven't seen either in a looooong time. They're iconic tunes but I'm not sure I'd ever qualify music themed for devil-possession as a "Pure Mood" song!

All we need is a collection from Zamfir, master of the pan flute.
cuddleskunk
This commercial was on TV all the time when I was a kid...
Deikin
I have this album!

I don't even need the sound. I know this whole commercial by heart like it was an old Simpsons episode
mondomar
I love this cd
MangoPort
They just stuck the ****ing xfiles theme on there lol.
AutobotPrincess
I remember begging my mom for this. Never got it though. I was a deprived child.
pinkmilkyway
I just made a playlist called pure moods and it cost $10 a month, with unlimited play
$22 In the 90s is comparable to $32 today
Now I get to hear music at a fraction of the price. SO MUCH MUSIC NOW— perhaps too much. I don’t have nearly the time to discover all my new favorites

I thought I would never see this again. Now you have broken my 26 year STREAK! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Had to sit through this to watch late-night Star Trek reruns with the sound down low so I wouldn't be caught watching Sci-Fi.

The intro song: https://youtu.be/Rk_sAHh9s08?t=90 "Enigma - Return To Innocence (Official Video)"
RummageSaleBubbler
Song that Enigma sampled is from Difang and Igay Duana; who are Amis, an indigenous Austronesian ethnic group native to Taiwan.

The perfect soundtrack for your way of life... and everybody else that buys the same album.
I'm more of a Freedom Rock aficionado, myself.

Well, turn it up, man!

Enya has it right, bought a fucking castle, built a recording studio in it and stays out of public.
Kerrisimo
I still have mine somewhere in a cd case.
Totallyscrewedinaustin
Wonder if the numbers still good?
pinkmilkyway
I just tried it. No answer, just kept ringing, and it even sounded like a rotary phone .
It was bizarre. What if they answered and I was talking to someone in the year 1996?
DSREX
Tell them to buy Apple stock with every cent they can find. Apple Stock was $16 a share in 97. If you had 10k to put in it would be 6million now.

It's like I fell asleep on the couch in front of the TV and woke up at 2am.
mrpink83
That's exactly what I was thinking... I used to sleep solely on the couch with the TV on when I was a youngster. :)
beerlady
Don't do that watching a movie cinamax... with your window curtains wide open.

How dare you make me feel my own age!

It was this, Pizza Bagels, and the DR Field and Brush Mower commercials I remember vividly.
Quizz25S
Hey man, Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" is the shit. I still listen to it sometimes. Hell, I'm gonna listen to it right now.
madsander
I fell down the rabbit hole of the making of that album.

Just like that, I'm 9 years old again.

Oh god, I was feeling 25 again

91-94 HS in a nutshell for me. I had to look it up. First Pure Moods dropped in 91, pretty sure they made a 1,000 of them.
chicharrone
I never realized one of the songs in this commercial is the Micheal Myers theme from Friday the 13th

Haha yeah, now that I think about it, you are absolutely right. It is weird.
TheChunguskaEvent
Is that Tubular Bells? I thought that was from The Exorcist, but may be wrong.
misterCT
It’s from the exorcist
VinchVolt
Or rather, it was borrowed for The Exorcist. Tubular Bells was released in May 1973, while the movie came out in December.
misterCT
You are absolutely correct. 💯 I just meant it wasn’t in Friday the 13th.
