The ketchup bottle is the best description of UX here. It's about designing for the complete user experience. UX isn't just development.

People did not enjoyed trying to get Ketchup out of the bottle. The plastic bottle solved that problem thus improving the experience.

Oh and there's no UX without UI. UI is anything that help you use a product (door handle, buttons, etc)
