I remember seeing this stuff from the frost engine and losing my shit. Is it me or did BR games tone back the building destruction?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With big cpu upgrades hopefully this kind of stuff actually gets used next gen.

Still no structural IQ? meh..

MECHASSAULT 2020!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're going to have to start calling it Real Engine

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

remember when physics engines and physics accelerator cards were a thing?

I've been trying to build a game using unreal engine 4. Any tips for a beginner?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Find a tutorial on how to make a simple game in unreal. Just follow the steps of someone else using the tool and see how it feels

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Will this run on an 80286?

Destruction psysics: Robo recall edition

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You need a coprocessor for that dont you?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Clicked the wrong reply button, not enough coffee yet

Is this a hostage situation?

5 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

Found the Fuze main

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

As you can see, we are taking the "stealth" route.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well...it WAS a hostage situation

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There's no hostage situation if you kill the hostage v

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is this the whole game? If so.... TAKE MY MONEY!

5 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 0

Technically you're supposed to kill the spider in the game...

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

What’s it do when you burn it w jet fuel tho

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

It remains standing, uncompromised.

The CIA sweats nervously.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow what a cool feature! Can’t wait to implement it and... oh there’s no documentation. Ah well I’ll go online and... ah

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

^ every Unreal project ever. Don’t get me started on custom scripts! Half the time they aren’t visible in the editor

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Always preferred Unreal engine to crytek or others. Unreal just seems to have more realistic complexions etc. Ironic with the name, I get it

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks a bit floaty. Rubble needs to pick up more speed falling down.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure original video is couple of years old.

For some reason this makes me uneasy.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We already had shit shit back on Nintendo 64, man.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s cool and all, but RDR2 has super realistic horse balls

Man, I remember coming out of Vortex Rikers and thinking, I can't get any better than this...

Fun fact, procedural destruction physics like this is extremely taxing on the computer resources. It's why DICE went with pre-baked 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

destruction maps for buildings in Battlefield: Bad Company, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3. It allowed the game to determine what to 2/3

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

destroy based on where an explosion of sufficient force struck the building. Hit a corner with an RPG, and the corner will blow out. 3/4

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But shoot a few feet off the corner and it'll instead blow out the wall. It's a great way to keep destructive environments light on cost.4/4

New Rampage looks dope

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My favorite game growing up with destruction like this was Red Faction 2.

5 years ago | Likes 301 Dislikes 0

Rf2 geomod to me was less than rf1 was. In rf1 you could make a huge hole in the earth while rf2 restricted it to buildings

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So quickly we forget about Rampage

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Nope. Played the hell out of it on the NES and later the N64. Repetitive but I couldn't stop playing.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would always wait for the convoy on the memorial bridge. One singularity mine on the support later and it would fly trap the entire group.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.... Asteroids on the 2600.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Space Asshooollleee

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck that's a game I had completely forgotten about

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Guerilla was very good as well

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Red Faction is the bomb

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved the remote mines, they were lethal and so much fun

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

PvP you could tunnel with rockets. They had crazy bullet damage memory in that game

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Red Faction Guerilla is good fun, taking out entire buildings.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Which red faction would you recommend the most to one who’s not aware of any story

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Guerilla is great. Remastered edition and third person open world with lots of stuff to blow up, plus mech suits, tanks etc.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Guerilla just got a remastered edition and is awesome

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Great, I’ll have to look into it, thanks

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is a good game. The only thing I wished it has was destructable floor like 1 and 2. Every other part of the game is great though.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My Brother and me played the shit out of Worms Mayhem 4 on the PS2.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Air strikes were pretty fun in mercenaries 2. Especially the nuke.

5 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

*Nuclear Bunker Buster

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Forgot about mercs 2

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mercs 2 was awful compared to the first one. Your aim actually improved while running over crouching. Dx

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Red faction (1) was basically minecraft with rocket launchers.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Are you referring to the original Red Faction, not guerrilla, that had Half Life 1 graphics?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, yes I am. Blow your way through a wall using 25 rockets to murder your friend, who is digging his way through a wall using rockets.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mine was battlefield bad company 2.

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

My fav for destruction.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nothing like leveling a cabin with a fucking camper in it. Or zigzaging a jeep across the open terrain dodging chopper fire.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I’d C4 a buildings main structural walls then run outside and snipe my heart out until I saw someone run in. That or just Carl Gustav.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah a camper strategy, nice

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Got the tent set up and the fire goin good brother.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or some C4 on an ATV and ram into tanks... fun times

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nvidia and ue4 keeps showing all that cool technologies and stuff , and then 95% is never used in any game ever> it says something that last

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

game who really let you destroy stuff was red faction

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Red Faction Guerrilla didn't have true terraforming destruction but it certainly did a great job with building destruction, which was great.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i mean older red faction buddy https://youtu.be/b7LqIuJdRFI

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I know. I was referring to the *third* Red Faction. I had the original, I loved throwing bombs on guards. They scream funny.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you was but i was not , if i would i would refer to it as so:U , i also played them all

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ITS CRAZY THIS WAS BACK IN 2001

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When you analyze how the destruction worked in RF1, it becomes really simple. It's like, literally the earliest version of voxel mining.
