I'm getting fond of sharing my walking and weight loss journey with you all lately and I appreciate every kind word instead of cruelty. I wanted to share some big updates but there haven't been many pictures taken lately so have a giraffe on a scale! Quick recap... Took a big dive in 2020, crushed both feet, both legs, left hip, right knee, pelvis, and lower spine. I was bed bound waiting for the left leg to heal for 2.5 years and now I have a lot of weight to lose.
First off, I started chair yoga, which actually involves a lot of standing and holding on. I can now put my knees back against the edge of my wheelchair seat to stabilize myself and do standing poses without holding onto my walker! I can even bend and touch my toes with both hands! I'm walking around more confidently without my leg braces and have taken a couple very stunted steps without the walker.
My weight is down from 470lbs to 437 today about 4 months into my weight loss journey, and I now fit in the water wheelchair so I can do water aerobics as soon as I can get a big enough bathing suit. I've transitioned from a crash keto diet to a more long term sustainable low carb, small portions, more whole foods diet, because keto wasn't agreeing at all with my shot.
Overall I'm moving better and getting majorly stronger. I've even noticed my damaged bladder and pelvic floor being better behaved. Pain and the major lack of sleep because of said pain are my biggest hurdles but I'm stubborn so I'm not giving up! I hope to keep on improving from here! Thank you for your continued support while this flesh shell is under construction. May peace and harmony find you ❤️
