I want to go (free food is free food) but I'm leery of going to a restaurant during the covids.

Except you didn't actually save shit because there's always some scumbag gimmick attached

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

I thought it was customary to tip the cost of the meal lol that's what my shop did

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I always went with my veteran friend to golden corral buffet for the free vet meal. We leave at least $20 on the table.

Yes! My mom was a server for 20+ yrs. She had so many calluses on her feet and she was always achy and sore. Tip your servers!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same same. I always tip the wait staff

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it OK to Good Guy Greg yourself?

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's possible they are the server. But yeah, I see your point

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Douche if ya don't! Always tip based on full price.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Brother,or sister I don’t know, we should show our gratitude by paying the wait staff the price of our meal. Reciprocated grace and honor.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sadly I won't get to participate this year. Got a positive covid test. I guess there is always next year.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup. I always make sure my servers are taken care of. I'm extra generous with my tips.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Um, that is expected. You always tip on the non-discounted cost, the discount is to drive business, not hurt the server.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

Screw tipping culture. Pay employees and stop leaving the customers to make up for your slave wages.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should tip based on full meal price, before any discounts or coupons.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...Because you aren't a dickbag?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wonder if good guy greg ever went full maga.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Always

My husband always tips the difference and so we pay full price for the entire meal, "minus tip".

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup. Any time there's a discount or we got something free. Like free pizza bc of points, we still tip full price. Its the right thing to do.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you for paying to stop the orphan crushing mAchine

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

what's a tip ?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats common courtesy on Veterans day deals

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I haven't seen a good guy Greg in ages

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Definitely an upvote for this. I do something similar. I make the tip equal to the cost of my meal.

4 years ago | Likes 219 Dislikes 2

same

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That’s good form. If you get comped, like a dessert on your birthday, always tip your server according to the full amount.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

oh yes, on YOUR day, lets make it about someone else. Im not saying dont tip(reg% based on full price), but to deny your "freebie" is stupid

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed 100%. Also fight to make a system where consumers' decency isn't required for servers to make a half-decent wage.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Please always tip if you can I dont know about other states but in nevada if you make tips most wil pay you the fed minimum which is $7.25/h

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

It's not a "tip of can" thing it's a don't go out to a sit down dinner if you can't afford to tip thing. USA system is dumb but that's that

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

"Tip if you can"*

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Oh thought you meant a tip jar.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is not Good Guy worthy, this should be normal behavior!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Well as a guy who worked in service industry for a long time most young military dudes are shity tippers.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I was in the service industry and in the Service and can sadly concede this is true. Lot of military are young, never worked another job.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was more making the point that you should do this with any kind of discount or coupon. A lot of people don't know this.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a Veteran, I stay the fuck away from restaurants on V-day. I am not fuckin interested and I don't want to tell my story.

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

im not a vet, but i know i wouldnt want to be gawked at and asked the same questions over and over.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m sorry. I respect your point of view. But I believe people need to know. A lot of people need to know every individuals experience.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ya it gets old. I was Air Force. That's all I'm saying.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What was it like bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That was the army ;)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll tell ya what. Ill jump in the Delorian go 88 mph and go find out.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Veterans deserve so much more than we give them. 'Thank you' only go so far.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I hear a lot from vets who hate getting thanked. Seems like a common theme on imgur to see those posts

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It just gets old. Especially when they don't know what you actually did. I was in not even a whole year. Always felt undeserving of thanks.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm assuming most civilians don't understand what vets go through so Thank You is all we can really say. Thanks for enduring

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sorry. Some people are really into that life and some would rather just forget it.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've never considered that. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
