About half the people at my office (mainly techs and engineers) have Nerf guns at their desks for impromptu Nerf wars at work. A few of them got the ones that are motorized and fire soft foam balls. Except they modified them to fire them with significantly more force.

Nerf Rival (and other foam golf-ball firing models of that line) are not to be trifled with. Their projectiles are a LOT faster than normal Nerf darts and significantly more accurate. I got a pair for my son a few years back and it took our Nerf wars to a new level. 5 stars.

My college did a big humans vs zombies game every year with nerf guns (zombies could throw socks on top of touching). Couldn't play indoors, so not directly very disruptive. Lasted about a week. However, as a TA for the machine shop/design studio, I saw some serious engineering hours go into hot rodding nerf guns.

This is why the Nerf Rival series with hoppers is soooo much better, a lot quicker to gather the balls up with a nut gatherer and just dump them into the hopper for quick reload.

Honest answer: it'd be very underwhelming. That's a single-shot gun made to look like an automatic/motorized one. You have to crank that white handle back after every shot to advance the belt. I have a side gig customizing toy/Nerf/airsoft guns for props, costumes, or festivals, I have four of that same gun in my workshop right now.
