Swiss Army Knife Compact-Huntsman tools on display. (I forgot to pull out the pin and eyeglasses screwdriver for this display.)

Using the can opener combo tool to press the notch that opens my bear canister.

Using the parcel hook to pull a tent stake out of the ground part 1. (Stake still in ground.)

Using the parcel hook to pull a tent stake out of the ground part 2. (dirt-caked stake extracted from ground.)

Using the parcel hook to lift shot lid from the pot on the stove

Resting atop bear canister lid that's being used as a plate, is a Swiss Army Knife and a freezer bag that was rolled down to make a bowl for oatmeal.

People are only commenting on the first pic. It's part of a gallery if anyone wants to see how I used a couple of the tools. (If I had remembered sooner, I'd have gotten pics of me using several of the others.)

I carry a Rambler as my EDC.

I love my fieldmaster. It comes in handy so often that I usually regret it if I forget to put it in my pocket.

🙌 Swiss Army Knives ftw! Same with my C-H. I use it on pretty much a daily basis. I'm thinking of putting my number on it in case I lose it on the off chance someone finds it and calls to return it.

I will always take the Phillips screwdriver over the quorkscrew, but VSA are always worth their weight

It's all about the tools you use. The Compact has a flat head designed such that, if you tilt the angle, can be used as a Phillips in a pinch. It's not as as good as a dedicated Phillips, but it'll get the job done. And this way, I have 3 tools instead of 1, all of which I use.

What's the thing in the corkscrew for?

Probably to protect the user and/or keep dirt out.

It's for getting Boy Scouts out of Girl Guide tents.

It's technically a screwdriver for eyeglasses. I use it to open boxes. It keeps my blades from getting gunked up from tape.

There's also a Tiny ferro rod and tinder to put in there.

True. But I use that little screwdriver often. However, I wasn't using the toothpick. So I have a Firefly ferro rod where the toothpick was instead. Ive started fires in all types of weather without a ferro rod. So I don't really get hyped about them. But the tip glows in the dark if I misplace the SAK at night. And if I ever do lose my Bic lighter, it's at least a small backup option that's faster than making a fire bow and doesn't take up any extra space in my pack.

Yeah, It's just backup backup 😉
Did not see the toothpick replacement.

I'm not surprised. It blends in with the sleeping pad. 😅
