I was thinking that this was neat and all, but it wasn't really on par with people who study technique... and then she went and painted the most beautiful realism and I shut up. She's extremely talented and skilled.

This feels like an upgraded Lisa Franks experience.

yeah, I can see and appreciate the skill, but personally I liked it better before the animals were added

I was starting to really like how it was coming together, the abstract elements seem to really have nice balance - then she took it apart and made it even better

I didn't upvote until she started painting on them

So cool & fun, but then WOW! A whole new set of art :). Beautiful - thanks for sharing @op!

First 40 seconds: yuh huh, "art" eh?

Last 20 seconds: oh shit, that's good.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man, I was prepared to absolutely hate that. Glad the second half happened.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's Absolutely Beautiful ♡

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pfft, I could do th... oh, wait, no, I couldn't

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ha! I can do that t... wait.

I thought they would be boring, but she pulled it off in the end. Kudos.

So, like, how much will people pay for just the first half?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on the people, the venue and… you. If you don’t have a following or a sponsor even selling the finished items at price that will buy you more paint can be difficult on your own, A sponsor can help absorb the costs of materials making profit easier, but you will have to shill a product or two for them and a Venue can help promote your art work, some venues cater to people with more money then sense so if you’ve made a name for yourself among them you can make bank.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

It's like if Lisa Frank turned into serious art.

Was gonna say yhe same.

Then paint the rest of the fucking painting...

Love that she’s using toys and things that we all love as kids to make a gorgeous mess. Playing as she arts. Arting as she plays.

The golf ball was my favorite

Thank you!

It bothers me that some of them are rotated. Would have been best to keep the original pattern hidden within all of them. Still beautiful, but a missed opportunity.

In a few hundred years Her art is going to send trillionaire art collectors on a treasure hunt to complete the whole set.

Most likely it will be in a landfill within 5 years

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Wow, you believe in the future?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wish... but to make a "great artist", you need a bit of a lobby group, and this hasn't happened yet for French Canadians painters.

Ehh, it can happen to anyone, the deciding factor is either being complicit in money laundering (get in by hobnobbing with appraisers that manufacture fame and interest), or luck out by being so cool that genuine and sincere folks with a bit of money take an interest and get the ball rolling until you end up with the same fame and interest that leads to money laundering.

Before she took it apart into individual pieces, I was like "I will never understand this type of art" and then "Wow, thats very nice"

1 year ago | Likes 396 Dislikes 9

Same I thought this was like.. oh good more random shit thrown at a canvas "art" but it was actually really creative.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Exactly!

1 year ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 2

Now you can look at abstract art and see beyond the chaos and see what some artist see and the reason why they produce it. Some things can just be visceral or beyond another persons mind to understand but that in itself can make something beautiful.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I understand that type of art is expressions of color and movement. All art has a place... Except people who make American flags out of old wood pallets.

"draw the rest of the owl"

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For me it was the complete opposite

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 4

A few times I thought, I would own that. Then she took them apart and I noped out.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I liked it a lot better before the cheesy (although, well-detailed) animals were added.

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

Very much this, it went from an interesting compositional piece to hippies with blacklights.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Before she took it apart, I was thinking I could be an artist, too. Not so much now that I've seen the end...

Me too 😂

You can, my favourite painting that has hung in my lobby for years and had so many compliments was a fun afternoon spent with an old canvas and my young daughter painting with our hands

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can, you should, and you are.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm still trying to draw a tree in pixel art.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey, if it takes a thousand drawings to get good at it, the only solution is to start now.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks, I need to get back to it. I want to make a game.
