Explanation: The Death Company is a specialised unit that is unique to the Blood Angels Chapter of Space Marines and all their Successor Chapters. Its members are consumed by a permanent, debilitating psychosis known as the Black Rage, which is an inherent risk for any Astartes who bears the Blood Angels' gene-seed.
Armoured in black and marked by the symbolic wounds suffered by their fallen Primarch Sanguinius, the Death Company are a grim foreshadowing of the Blood Angels Chapter's final fate.
Every warrior in their ranks is a boon on the battlefield, possessed of righteous strength and holy fury. Yet once the storm of war passes, madness and execution are all that await these tormented souls, driven past redemption by the curse in their tainted blood.
Fun Fact: The Angels Encarmine colour their Death Company in alabaster white with black backpacks. While it has been stated that the Flesh Tearers' Death Company follow the same colour schemes as the Blood Angels', their Death Company have been shown coloured pale grey with red helmets, backpacks and pauldrons. The Lamentors, who for a long time did not suffer from the Black Rage, have been shown painting their Death Company in quartered black and yellow colours.

Death Company is admittedly one of my favorite factions to think about because Mephiston has had the Black Rage twice and came back from it both times. There was even some thought that he was "changed" from it. Still, could be interesting to see how crazy a super powered psyker with it would be

One wonders why death company don't ever fight each other and see one another as Horus. If the whole black rage thing is supposed to be them reliving the fight between Sang and Horus I wonder how their death company brothers fit into that hallucination and why other non death company blood angels don't somehow benefit from the same "protection'

Because they aren’t enemies. Maybe?

Oh, there was an example in the Blood Angels Omnibus. Apparently they see their Black Rage induced siblings as Sanguinius...as well as themselves...
And some brain f*ckery keeps them from figuring out that there's only supposed to be one Sanguinius.

They're trapped in the psychic echoes around the Siege of Terra and the death of their primarch. Chaplains and others can often guide their delusions. Anyone not perceived as one of the traitor legions would be seen as a presumably large-breasted loyalist.
