decisions in real time, lightweight AI is on the drone (that was the outstanding achievement of the university of Delft demonstrated in this contest) ... decisions are based on camera only and a few other sensors (accelerometer, ...) ... but no LIDAR or anything similar advanced ... pretty much the same conditions as a human drone pilot with glasses

I wonder about this. how would it know which opening to travel through? there probably is some kind of path added so it wouldn't just choose random visibale openings. 'specially the one where it stops, drops and goes to the bottom opening... but what do I know.
