£36 of lager is like one day

That's about 7 pints, or one fairly respectable session.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But people really like alcohol, how will they self medicate?

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Cannabis.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

not in China

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But I already don't drink alcohol and I am fat, poor, and have acid reflux.

3 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 2

What can't I have no issues and three alcohol?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There are dozens of us

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I stopped drinking beer as often (hangovers getting worse, not as fun anymore) and lost 15 pounds changing nothing else. It adds up.

3 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Shit i lost 80 lbs switching from beer to vodka... Lol

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Seriously, but I also like my alcohol to taste like alcohol, and if I want empty calories I'll eat chips.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I lost 100lbs just from not drinking beer every day. I went back to drinking at least 6 beers a day and gained all the weight back

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not even light beer. 7.5% alc beer

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I quit drinking and I didn't notice anything. I got fatter because I replaced vodka with cake. I had kids so $ was no different.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

One day I'll get there. Today is not the day. But one day.

3 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 1

Same mate. Same.

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Nothing says that day can't be tomorrow. I'm trying to quit myself and tomorrow will be my first day off sober in a while. Hopefully.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah man. I like to tell myself in "tapering" but I'm just still drinking lol.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

When the day comes, make sure to reach out, ask for help, tell the people you trust. It will increase your chances of staying sober.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a recovering drug addict I've always been so grateful I'm not an alcoholic. It's everywhere! Commercials, neon signs, I will never be at>

an Xmas work part and have to deal with avoiding the meth bar. Those commercials with the ice cube spinning in the glasses, the wiskey>

pouring in, the frosty mug. There are no ads where they are drawing up a hit in a rig or cooking up some rock in a spoon. I'd be so fucked.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm past the 18 month sober mark myself. I've already drank enough for two lifetimes, don't want to touch it again.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I didn’t drink for almost a year because of the Covid lockdowns closing the bars…didn’t notice anything different except maybe the money.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Good luck and good job!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

6 pints a week... that is half of my nightly consumption. Are folks that drink 1 pint a day 6/7 days of the week really needing this advice?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those are rookie numbers. U gotta get those numbers up

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Right? A 6 pack a day adds up to waaayy more than that

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A mickey a day is beyond that scale.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Acid reflux thing is real. Stop drinking not pretty particular reason and my acid reflux seriously toned down

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

12 pints a fortnight? Lightweights.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is...12 pints in 2 weeks too much? If so I really need to rethink my drinking habits.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

One pint a day does not sound like a problem to me either.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rookie numbers. 12 pints in 1 night more like

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Day 25 here. Good luck!. Checked my BP this morning and it was 124/89, which is amazing, considering it's "normally" 155/100+.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I still eat the 12 slices of cake. I stopped drinking because I wanted to play video games without getting sleepy

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good luck

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Stopping drinking good but numbers are way off, how the fuck is a slice of large cake only 200 cal?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where the fuck is old mate getting a pint for £3

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where are you buying £3 pints of lager?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was all going so well till 12 pints in two weeks...that's a Saturday night you bloody lightweight

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I read this as I burped acid into my mouth.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good on you, bud. I'm about two weeks in myself, longer than i've gone in a while. already noticed that i sleep better. Good luck!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

12 pints over 2 weeks? I can do that in a day. Like most days. Less lately but still.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yea 2000 calories is not 10 “large” pieces of cake. It’s 3 probably

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Came here to say this. A large slice of cake is like 600 Calories.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

12 pints, meh. I spill more over my shoes in 2 weeks.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You gotta get a better grip on your beer, bro.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not buying alcohol anymore, I’m buying records and legos.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I gained so much weight after I reduced my alcohol intake, that's how I realized I had a bigger issue than I admitted. I was skipping food.

3 years ago | Likes 211 Dislikes 1

When you’re spending most of your money on hootch, you’ve got to get the most out of your money. Eating is a buzz kill.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

For me I get hungry when drinking and hungover me eats garbage so when I drink often I also eat more than normal+calories from booze

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Food is the best chaser. I eat like crazy when im drinking too.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The fun weight loss diet

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I craved sugar like crazy. I would put down a bag of jelly beans a night. I still lost too much weight. I might have been drinking more?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It doesn’t help that you crave sugar.

3 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Right? I try to fast/skip meals but my body believes it's dying of hunger. Really annoying. Upped Water intake helped a little

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’m not sober, but Lemon Spindrift helps me cut back.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I eat so much candy now that I don’t drink every day… it’s kind of embarrassing haha

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I use la croix, because it gives off similar vibes to drinking, which really helps me curb the sugar intake

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Topo Chico. Cheaper to buy the 1.5L bottles but yea, somehow tricks my brain into thinking it's pop/beer.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think I lived on gummy worms when I was coming off a year of opiates, dependence is wild.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I always gain tons of weight when I drink and drop a bunch when I stop.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Eating, especially til you feel really full, is just as good a source of endorphins as the alcohol was. This happens a lot.

3 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 0

There’s also skipping meals to save money and/or stomach space for more booze. Also to feel more drunk from raised tolerance.

3 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

When I was heavily drinking, I found eating got in the way of my drinking time so I’d go a whole day without eating while drinking

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Same. I used to say, “Eatins Cheatin” before a night out.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We called it drunkorexia in uni.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

depression binge eating

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

What app or website is this?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have never drank alcohol and I can assure you that acid reflux is still a thing

3 years ago | Likes 434 Dislikes 19

Sure but in context this probably means acid reflux caused by alcohol.

3 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 1

I stopped drinking and still get heartburn.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Amen my guy.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've started taking probiotics and my acid reflux that was daily has gone down to....I remember I had one uh.... Maybe 2 months ago?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was really hoping that quitting drinking would fix mine but it didn't. By about 3pm, water will give me reflux without my daily pill.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Conversely I drink plenty of alcohol and don't get acid reflux unless I get a large hangover. Every 3-6 months, I'd guess.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you tried breathing exercises? Also watch youtube videos about muscle imbalance. With age the stomach sphincter gets loose but it can /

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

be reversed. Source my experience

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s some republican level logic…. “Me, me, me,”

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Not really? The infographic could be interpreted to imply that any existing acid reflux symptoms you have will vanish if you don’t drink,

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

that drinking is the sole cause of the symptom. A bit of a read into it but I can see the posters logic there.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You should try Prilosec OTC -Larry The Cable Guy

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Nexium is also good, that's what we have here in Australia

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup I had a hatal hernia so severe it required surgery

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have a mild case. How invasive was the surgery? What was your recovery time?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They went in arthroscopically so few small scars. Recovery time was about a month of strict diet regiment which helped me lose a lot of lb

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stayed in the hospital for a day and I had no residual pains so I didn't need any of the pain medications

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you tried drinking alcohol regularly and then stopping suddenly?

3 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I'm sorry to hear that, but no one said that acid reflux only exists for drinkers.

3 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 7

It clearly states in the image that week 2 off of alcohol, no more acid reflux. Which is nonsense.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you choose to bend the meaning in that way, fine. Acid reflux caused by alcohol would be resolved. Very clear what is meant.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My statement is 100% accurate-they do not say quitting cures things not casused by drinking. It's a poster, not a technical article.
