Hey y'all, so my husband and I bought our house a few months ago and the previous owners left 2 TV mounts. We were able to figure out and use the one in the living room since it had a brand name on it, but the one in the master bedroom has nothing so I can't figure out what kind of TV I can mount on it. Should I just take it down or is there another way I can use it without sacrificing the mount?

Mount a big clip to it. Use it to hold skiing equipment or bicycles
allcluedup
Mount a mirror to it to do a quick sanity check before running out the door

Mount a big pot plant to it. Use flat edge size pot. Remove plant. Screw it to holder. Put plant back inside. Done

Mount shelves to it use it as a swinging book shelf

Put a door bell behind it and mark it as do not press and when they do the door bell goes off

Mount a propeller to it and spin it as you go past

Of there is one on the opposite wall run rope between the two and use as clothes line If it rains

You could name it TV McWallmounterface

Weird thought, put a TV on it.

That is the goal! I just don't want to put a tv that is above its weight limit and risk damaging something.

I would grab a pillow, a rope, and a few 10 lb weights...figure the weight of your tv and gradually increase weight on the mount. Listen 1/2

For feedback from the stud/studs the mount is fastened to and let the weights stay for a few hours or as long as it takes for confidence.

VESA patterns (the spacing between holes) are standard. That one looks like it has a lot of options so you can easily hang another tv there

Thats good to know! My concern would be weight limits then? Ive seen horror stories about poorly mounted tvs and Id hate for that to happen.

Take a stud finder and run it above/below the mount. If it beeps, you’re good. If you don’t have one, drive a small nail in just above
TheDentDad
Or below the mount. If it grabs you’re good. That mount is probably rated up to 80lbs since it has the largest vesa pattern available
