Why did all the spam of GTA online screenshots, AI images, and fake users come back again? It’s making User Sub unusable. Please fix this Imgur team.

On a positive note, Dumbledore turned 4 on April 1st, so I am a little late to the party. Just look at him blep.

Finally some context thanks! So according to this, the current mess is temporary and they're applying a new filter/algorithm. That's not that bad but I guess it depends on how good the new filter is

Ew, believe it or not it has in fact got worse lol.

When the random ass spam started I did not expect the self-doxxing and one dude having a psychotic break over unemployment.

Imgur's operators, in a flash of brilliance, have decided to pump "engagement" numbers for the shareholder reports by disabling all of the filters and guardrails against spam and accidental, public posts.

In a way, I find it nostalgic, because this is what Imgur was like some years ago, before the filters were put in place. But no, I wouldn't say it's better, and it certainly lessens my desire to engage.

Maybe they're trying to pump the numbers cuz they're going to sell imgur off.

I can't decide whether to hope it's so or hope it isn't. The site could be run a lot better, but it could be much worse as well. Change in ownership almost always results in services getting worse, though, such as Verizon's genius move to ban porn from Tumblr in an apparent attempt to make the site culturally irrelevant and sink their investment(???). They sold it, but I haven't heard of the new owner doing anything to try to repair the damage.

Yeah it sounds from an interview they did with The Verge that they're not going to allow porn because of "but the app stores!", even though apps
are completely fucking useless and could be replaced just by having a decent, mobile-friendly WEB SITE.
