Exactly. Cement board siding is just as much work to install but 100x more durable.

Here in Sweden it's usually metal, wood or stone siding. Don't think I've ever seen vinyl.

It's way more labor intensive and 10x the cost if you have someone else install it. Cutting cement is slightly harder than vinyl.
