Do they still use carnauba wax? It can fall out of solution if it gets too cold. This is most likely 'safe', but... probably not worth it. You might try contacting manufacturer directly or through Twitter to see if they'll give you some coupons.

Avoid. If it is hanging around in the middle then I suspect there is a microbial net that you don't see. Don't play games with a $2 bottle of soda. Alternatively: keep it and dare a stupid friend to drink it.
