Not enough support. Add another set of stair stringers down the middle.

Thank you for actually answering my question and not being a snarky douchebag hiding behind a keyboard like the ones commenting below. Im going to have to rip the stairs up, arent I?

Few things here, check to see if there is a center stringer, if there is not, add one. Also, glue and crew the treads to the stringers, the riser to the back of the tread and then to the bottom of the tread above. I have a full set of stairs with no center stringer and with gluing and screwing the risers and treads together they done move at all and I'm almost 300lbs.

So many peeps on here think saying classless, derogatory things will garner them snark points. Sadly, they don’t understand true snarkiness :(

Yes. But why do you automatically assume that's a bad thing. I know plenty of people who's houses are like this, everything needing work. They are usually honest, down to earth, hard working people. My aunts and uncles houses were like this most of them time. My first home would look like this if my credit wasn't so bad that the loan company will insist the place is perfect before loaning to me. Nothing wrong with getting a fixer upper.

I apologize. I read the one calling me a crackhead and I thought you were jumping on the hate train. Thank you for expanding on your statement. I jumped to the wrong conclusion.

No problem. I use to do remodeling when I was younger and it was a family business so I picked up a lot before I even started working so if you have any questions in the future feel free to DM me. As for your stairs, I heavily suspect the builder skimped and there is no middle stringer, which is absolutely insane but I've seen crazier stuff. Can you access them from below?

I can't agree with what they say, but crackhead energy is sometimes needed for fixing up a house.

Touched a nerve. Understandable. I'm an experienced homeowner but not much of a handyman, so I don't have very useful advice for your home issues. Maybe an online forum focused on home maintenance or home improvement? Best of luck.

I figured it out. It will be a pain, but within my skillset. Have a good one.
