Could be a common music volute if you are on the Central to South Atlantic shore
I’m on the west coast of the north island in New Zealand (Otaki beach)
Sounds like an Arabic Volute, but that’s not the ocean (or hemisphere) I’m most familiar with. :)

If you don’t get an answer tonight, I’ll show it to my wife. She has an extensive knowledge (and collection) of shells.
She says it’s from the volutidae but she’s not sure of the genus. She’s hunting through her books... haha! On a mission.
