My wife watched me play dead space once - she plays a lot of video games too, but not FPS horror - and she was sad that I wasn't getting jump scared. I'm like, "Just figure out which corner is furthest from the vents and you'll have the longest time to line up your shot. Don't forget to check for ceiling vents."
most rooms have vents everywhere and the spawns are dynamic. they can even crawl back into the vents and get out the the ones closer to you. this is even more noticable/used in the remake, which even has random ambience for rooms, so when you backtrack the mood is different.
Yeah, I played the first 2 dead spaces and while yes, it's not every vent, it IS all the obvious ones. Just keep the gun trained on the vents and you'll be fine.

Deadspace. Such a good story. Some of the playthroughs are as good as watching a movie.

Wouldn't dead space be TPS not FPS? Or is there a bunch of first person scenes I don't recall?
