I often have to talk party members out of terrorism.

I once successfully pulled off playing a secret serial killer psionic sorcerer. 1/2
I cleared it with my DM ahead of time and we had secret code phrases for when I marked an often innocent someone for death . 2/2
Bonus: I only got caught toward the end of the campaign because a party member's God took offense to my Freddy Krueger-esque escapades.
Serious reply: during session zero tell them "this isn't an evil campaign. If you get carried away, your pc will become a villain npc."

We have a campaign right now where the BBEG is a PC waiting to betray the group.
Follow up by confirming goofing around is ok, but things like outright murdering innocent people or terrorizing a town have consequences.
In one of our sessions, they were truly considering blowing up a hospital. Like wtf guys.
Yeah, I definitely recommend having a conversation to get a run on the same page. Call it "mid-season calibration".
This was a few games ago. We are starting deadlands hell on earth soon. And now I get to play the psycho.
