I think every programmer will relate.

Just to clarify: I’m a programmer and I’ve got into this situation in the past. Currently my boss rocks and is respectful of my estimates. I was just watching Chernobyl on HBO and this line gave me flashbacks lol

Just shrug and walk away. Work to your best ability, push a 100% broken release version. Call your continued dev work "bugfixing".
