That is legit how well most people shoot IRL

Or stick to 3rd person games and platformers like me

But for real though like what is the context here from The Simpsons itself?

Found it, it was from Season 8 episode 24 of The Simpsons called "The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase".

With all the RDR2 hype, went out and bought a console to catch up on console-only games... holy fucksticks I suck with a controller.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Waaaaay too accurate

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve learned that strafing is your friend when aiming, rather than trying to pinpoint aim like you can do with your mouse

this is definitely true, but something i think you should do even with kb&m. why aim & dodge when you can aim *because* you dodge? the >>>

lack of analog movement on keyboard can make it harder though.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tip: A lot of PS4 games accept input from a USB/Bluetooth keyboard+mouse , plus you can use PS4 controllers on PC with a driver.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lucky for you, this was just a warning gator. The next one won't be corked.

Exactly why I refuse to play first person shooters on console

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You want frustrating? Watching someone who has never played games try something like Skyrim.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yea the mouse is way better. But controllers are way easier than keyboards for walk, run, jump, sprint, dodge, dip, dive, duck and dodge

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If it helps Xbox one now supports keyboard and mouse for some games. Unfortunately it's up to devs to add support for individual games tho

Shooters for sure mouse is better. But i tried to play dark souls with mouse and keyboard and it just wasn't happening.

6 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 2

I'm like the opposite dark souls wise I can't play it unless it's on keyboard

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I only really use mouse and keyboard for shooters (except resident evil) and strategy games where a controller isn't realistic.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean dark souls was such a horrible port that mouse or keyboard controls were seriously flawed, even with mod support

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know a person that beat DS with a racing wheel, because she's a damn crazy person.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I could never do DS with a controller. The only thing I prefer them for (usually) is figthers, and with the right control scheme they fine.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Brawlhalla for one (great game) is splendid with mouse and keyboard

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's not a fault of the control method, That's a fault in the design of the game.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have beaten DS1 and DS2 (almost) with keyboard, it feels more like an arcade game but still pretty doable

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dude i went through all of the Arkham games and the Witcher 3 multiple times with a keyboard and mouse I may be crazy but i hate controllers

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I prefered Witcher 3 with keyboard and mouse, but Dark Souls needs a controller.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Some games for me need controllers, because a joystick provides more angles to move, but I just use a controller I plug into my PC

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For me, as a rule of thumb, mouse if precision of aiming is necessary. Controller if precision of movement is necessary.

6 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 2

Same. Rocket league batman and a few others I do controller.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s surprisingly accurate. I’ve been trying to put into words what my preferences are and that’s nailed it!

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Which is why GTA annoys me. I Have to switch from controller and mouse every few minutes

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Ha I just got a gaming pc for the first time after playing with a controller my entire life, I feel the same way just the opposite

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I grew up on the Nintendo all the way through Gamecube / playstation, day 1 on a PC was a godsend with mouse aiming. Keyboard took a bit.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I play on pc with a controller. I can’t play with a mouse and keyboard for shit. Except WoW

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had the same issue when I got into PC gaming just stick with it and you'll pick it up quick, now I'm bad with a controller.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Console shooters feel like someone strapped training wheels on me with the auto-aim doing so much work. I can imagine the opposite.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i always turn auto aim off if they let me. it doesnt help at all and often hurts if youre actually any good with the controller.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Games have become really good at hiding the auto-aim, even when turned off. Magnetic bullets and higher turning speeds are often subtle.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

im well aware. im a game dev myself. i dont mind the "magic bullet" stuff, but when the auto aim rips my sights off target because some >>>

Most controllers can be used with PC so you should be fine.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

By better I just mean mouse is currently the most competitive input method. You’re never going to outshoot good players with a controller

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Try low sensitivity on PC. Most people run at 800 DPI or lower. Big mouse pad, Elbow/shoulder for big swings, wrist for finer movements.

6 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 0

High mouse dpi with low game sensitivity. (and no mouse acceleration like another said)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate running at a low DPI. It feels like I can't look around fast enough.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The trick with mouse gaming is not moving your arm at all. Your palm resting and sensitivity should be set to the motion of your fingers.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mouse acceleration off too.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

This^ so much. I was trying to learn M&K for a month or 2 and had so much trouble until I turned off mouse acceleration

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I made the mistake of going high sensitivity since that's how Console felt good for me. High sens on PC = Uncon-fucking-trollable

6 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

Max windows, 1800 dpi, steel series mouse pad...yea I have to control my breathing or it moves.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

also make sure mouse acceleration is off

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

You want that dank Raw Input too incase the game has the option

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My brother is a graphic designer so he likes high sensitivity because he can draw more quickly and if he needs extra detail he can just zoom

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Wait, he draws with a mouse?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

some do, it's surprisingly not that bad when you don't have access to a tablet, especially when you can adjust the DPI

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know whether he has a drawing tabley or not, but if he does when he visits me he never brings it so yeah.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Get a mouse with variable DPI switch. High for hip fire, medium for ADS, high for scope scouting, low for scope precision.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I run at 5k DPI. Guess I'm a freak.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I run at 5k too. Like anything else in life, it's just a matter of practice. Video games take maybe 2 weeks to adjust to a new controller.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on what type of games you play. Low sens really benefits aiming for FPS, not as important for most other genres.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

no judgement, i run at 12k on some games (mostly when they are poorly ported)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you have windows and an Xbox compatible controller? If so you can play most pc games on controller

6 years ago | Likes 125 Dislikes 6

I tried playing tf2 on a steam controller, not a fun experience

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

HE SHOULD LEARN OUR WAYS. There's little point to playing on PC is you aren't learning to use a mouse and keyboard.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Yeah but, why?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can also use a PS3 controller (maybe PS4, not sure), but it takes 3rd party software.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Actually, if you just plug a PS3 controller into a PC its recognized right away. If you want to use it wireless then you need the software.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can say in my experience that's not true. I had to get software to use my PS3 controller on Windows 10.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just plugged mine in on win 7, auto installed a driver and it shows up as a give controller.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's the only way I can fly in most games, it makes BFV dogfights much more fun

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's actually what I do. I made that transition years ago, but never got used to using keyboard/mouse.

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

I can't do that arma 3 just has way too many controls

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do both. Games that feel developed for console I play with Xbox one controller, but I use keyboard/mouse for quite a few others.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You can, but don't. Learn the mouse, trust me. It's such a superior input method.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

WASD sucks for driving.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Correct. And mouse is better than stick at anything the requires you to aim. Use either when they make sense. Don't limit yourself to one.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, I agree.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mouse maybe, but you’re saying using a device used for word processing is superior?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. You can use all 5 fingers on your non dominant hand at the same time. Vs 2 MAYBE 3 on a controller.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In gta on PC I shoot with my keyboard (unless autotargeting is on) and drive with an xbox controller.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's like saying "you know you can fly this helicopter with a tennis racket, right?"

6 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 50

some reason Ghost Recon is 75% less glitchy using an xbox remote instead of keyboard. i use kb on foot in gta, controller in vehicles

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Action RPGs, platformers, fighting and racing games are great on a controller. Shooters, strategy games and MOBAs are best played M&K.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This. Some games are just MADE for controllers. Even if you certainly could use M&K, it's just so much smoother on a gamepad. Conversely,

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

other games most definitely work better with a mouse and keyboard. Using a controller on those feels far more clunky. Right tool, right job.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

really depends on what game. for a helicopter, m&k is terrible. but on pc* you have CHOICE which is awesome and should be praised

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*note: xbox will soon have native support for m&k with ok solutions already available!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's the easiest thing to do and feels no different, other than it's not an overpriced/under-powered box that lights up with a logo.

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

$250 is overpriced?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't forget the paid online, one must add every month or year paid for it to the final price.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They make those too though.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, current gaming PCs usually light up everywhere like they're a damn Christmas tree, not just with a small logo.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's not that hard, plug in an x box controller with a sub, it will automatically update the drivers, open up the game and play! Done!

6 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 4

It's not about how hard it is to install a tennis racket to the helicopter, it's about how it flies with it.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think their point is that some games have too many controls for a controller, like starcraft for example, but plenty of games do port well

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

if you have steam this works with every controller. i can literally just connect my Switch pro controller and use it to play every PC game

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

or even just windows itself. R is left click, L is rightclick, you move the cursor with the left analog stick, etc

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not a case of being hard - a mouse is a better control system than a little stick on a gamepad. You CAN get good with a gamepad, but

6 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 5

you will never be as flexible or capable as someone using a mouse.

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

There are also controllers that plug right into the USB port and bingo bango, put you dick in a mango, you can play whatever, windows or not

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

i have one. compatible with every platform but the switch. gonna buy one that is though.
