I know this is unpopular opinion. But he created a safer way to obtain drugs. In a podcast he was adamant he had no intention for people or murder to be bought and sold. It was originally meant to keep responsible drug dealers in business. If you put fentanyl in your drugs, you were rated poorly and people would stop buying from you. And this allowed recreational users to stay safer. The unintended consequences are extremely unfortunate. But for a while it really was a good thing.
