Everyone wants to do what marvel did with their movies. But they always end up doing what DC did with their movies. At best they pull off what marvel did with their movies after civil war.
I'll never understand the "we want to do our own version/thing" - if that's the case just make a new IP, stop using existing IP to trick viewers to come in an watch your glorified fanfiction.
No,no. They can't ruin this. I want majima everywhere and the entire kiwami story line. They can just copy the entire game! Why make your own thing when what you got was already good? I was looking forward to this.
man i swear with how youtube has fan made complations of game characters and cutsceenes and other dialogue... this is just irredeemably lazy acting and there is NO GOOD EXCUSE for her not to do a character study when all the shit is right there for her to watch... and this goes for all of them that are to lazy to do something so fucking simple
They want to make a show. it gets passed on because no one will watch it. So the creators loosely tie it some existing property to pull in fans of that property as well as get people talking online about it. Example: Velma
True, but that only succeeds if the _underlying story_ itself is a good story that can stand on its own merits to begin with (see the last Joker movie as well as the original Pirates of the Caribbean).
Not necessarily because no one will watch it, but because studios aren't willing to take risks and think "known IP" is the only safe bet (never mind all the times that shitty adaptations have lost money)
HankHell2400
I'm sure it'll be just as good as Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, Dragon Ball Evolution. Not to mention all the western shows. She Hulk, Velma...

The actors should be portraying the characters in the script they have, not any alternate versions no matter what

"We wanted to respect the source material by not even looking at it and just using some names and settings." Just...make your own IP then??
Corrodias
But then you'd have to have to budget for marketing.
CyberpunkEnthusisast
Then you have shows like Witcher and lotr which follow closely the lore and everyone then hates on for being confusing.

Reminds me of the Borderlands movie where the girl playing tiny Tina said she never played the games and based her character off of Harley Quinn.
Bowtie8bit
It's fucking stupid they can't just get the actual Tiny Tina actress to reprise her role live.
