this is why i hardly beliee in the world becoming better, all those cartoons and the ideals they tried to transfer into kids, yet all the now grown ups do not follow any of them. All the problems they presented us at the saturday and sunday morning cartoons are still there or worse.

I have those books.

Yeah, growing up, that whole series of books was an important part of my developing fondness for folklore and fantasy stories.

Yeah that tickled a core memory for me. Might have to get the set for my son as mine have been lost to time.

Do not THE SOUND

Aye. There was a longer one that did not squish and high-pitch the tune, but it was over a minute long, so it could not be added to the post.

This one is called "gnome hyperborea" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpL-nBFGm-g, the priginal one that was squished. This one is a belgian/dutch tune about gnome boys trying to pick up gnome gals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFZNiAPT9rY. was a kid;s show. This last one is a remix of the slovenian forest sprite film "Kekec's tricks." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwLSrNu1ppI I do not remember the name of the tune that is remixed in it.

“The conical form of the bonnet is ideal for making everything that falls on it rebound”

(translation based on french remembered from childhood, likely not everything is literally correct).

I watched a lot of David the Gnome as a kid.

I had these books as a kid, but did not know there was a television show. Thanks to another user also bringing the story's impact in a few different countries, I have started looking in on it. Would you happen to have episode recommendations?

The first episode is memorable because he goes on a rant on how much humans suck. I'd say the best episode might be the one where he rewards a human with gold and it backfires. But it some episodes got pretty trippy. Especially the last episode. Let me direct you to a spectacular resource. https://www.wcofun.net/anime/david-the-gnome

Have started an episode, and will continue after some coziness prep. Thanks for these notes, and the site.
