Windows 10 notification tray icon is live, actual OS is not.

Clicking the icon will inform you of your upgrade status, Win10 features, and some other information that may or may not be of value to you as a consumer.

However, this will also set you up to receive the update as soon as it's live.

Also, Steam.

THEY'RE GIVING YOU A FREE UPGRADE TO LOCK YOU OUT OF 7 AND 8.1. IT CONSUMES YOUR KEY AND BLOCKS REINSTALL OF THE OLDER OS!

that's the point of a one-time upgrade. You won't be needing to go back to 7 or 8.1 anyways. How woudl they enforce the 1-up per license?

Free Windows is awesome, but if this turns into another Vista/Windows ME, i`m switching right back to 7. Thanks for the heads up btw +1

It's much, much better than Win 7 of course. It has most of the Win 8 improvements, and plenty more. IMHO only downgrade is with OneDrive

If you have a spare PC or a virtual machine, I'd suggest you try it out now on Insider Preview. Still some bugs and unfinished, but nice

IF YOU FREE UPGRADE YOU CANNOT SWITCH BACK, YOUR KEY WILL NOT AUTHENTICATE 7 ANYMORE!

WHAT?!? So it invalidates my windows 7? What the hell, i bought mine OEM...

So buy a copy of 10, its gonna be the price of a win7 x64 oem anyway.

That's the deal with upgrades, not news that a license can only be upgraded once. This reflects the change in revenue model for Windows

OEM gives you the right to use it on exactly one new PC, not install it how many times on different PCs you want, if upgraded, u move on
