For those of you who haven't used Linux, WINE is a compatability layer which allows you to run old Windows programs frequently better than Windows 10 or 11 itself does. It generally runs everything until GPU integration is needed then turns into trash.
It's similar to "compatibility mode" where Windows as far back as XP would load the old system DLLs so deprecated functions still worked.

True. Wine is not an emulator.
It is a direct enabler. A facilitator. In fact, wine is closest to being a "meaning of life" truth.
Everything runs better on wine.
But, back to the software. WINE allows you to eliminate evil Microsoft Windows altogether in favor of a good *nix-based OS, including Mac. Just do it.
