Isn't it kinda how that works though? Imgur estimates x% of users will participate, builds feature to accommodate that number. 2x% participate and break the feature. I'm not a programmer so I could be wrong.

I don't even know what the event was. Pages didn't load for most of the day. When they did, there was this block of cryptic text that sometimes appeared when you upvoted, but it didn't have much in the way of explanation or instruction.

It didn’t work as expected for long. I was able to start early enough that I got all the points but then everything went to hell. I couldn’t get the site to load again until they turned all that nonsense off.
