Please, I'm begging you, go to YouTube, then SEND THEM FEEDBACK on the fact that they have added the comments over the top of the "short" form videos.
You can send feedback by clicking on the 3-dot control in the top-right of a Short.
There were ALREADY too many things covering up those videos, and now they are up to about 50% of the screen being covered by links, buttons, and other stuff that should be tucked into a side menu. Stuff creeping into the content from top, sides, and bottom. It is really messing with my neurodivergent brain.
If people want to read the comments, there is already a button for that, they don't have to cover up the video, too.

Jokes on them, I rarely use them.

I want more #nonsense #all #over #the #description #of #every #video and i also want much less context about wtf it's a video of. Fuck me, how can i pay for more of that?

Ad blocker and no worries
Huntergirl727
This isn't about ads, it's about comments now being shown in the screen, but apparently you needed a TLDR for 3 sentences.
Huntergirl727
Sure, just put it right on top of where the content creator put her message. Makes total sense. 🙄
Naramumu
Well, the good news is they haven't put ads on shorts... Yet...
Huntergirl727
Are you being sarcastic, or do you literally not see ads on the? Every third short is an ad for something.
Naramumu
Oof... Sorry, I got the premium. Was jokingly mentioning that YouTube will put banner ads directly on shorts that probably cut the content visibility even more
whiskeywonka
No. Screw youtube. I use many many blockers and scripts to remove/mute ads. and 'shorts' and piss right off like the zombie vines they are. fkn no attention span grumble grumble get off my lawn!
JamesTDG
I had a script enabled just to disable showing shorts for me on YouTube (Plus any shorts that I do watch on YouTube, get automatically converted to the default player)
whiskeywonka
Oh converting them, thats a interesting idea. I still hate the concept of shorts as a primary content delivery.
